Varsity Volleyball beats Suburban Leader

The Varsity Girls traveled to Kent Roosevelt Thursday, Sept 28 to play a match against the Suburban League leader, Kent Roosevelt Lady Rough Riders (7-0 conference play and 11-1 overall).  Tallmadge won the first set 25-17, and then won the 2nd set by a closer margin of 25-23.  The third set saw a more determined Kent team take the court with the set ultimately landing in Kent’s hands 23-25.  The fourth set began with Tallmadge taking the lead and the set ended the same way with Tallmadge winning it 25-18.  Tallmadge took the match 3-1.

The girls record now stands at 6-2 within the Suburban League Conference and 13-4 overall.  The Lady Blue Devil Volleyball team has now won 8 games in a row and is set to face Copley (who won the first meetup of the year) on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd at home on the Tallmadge court.

Individual contributors to tonight’s win are:

Sydney Kirker with 16 Kills.

Amelia Perdue with 42 Assists.

Sydney Shertzinger with 28 Digs.

Alex Perrin had 3 Blocks.

Emma Eyre had 7 points off of Serve along with Sydney Kirker who had 7 points and 4 Aces.

There are 3 more home games in regular season play, Oct. 3rd, Oct 10th, and Thursday, Oct. 12th.
