Blue Devils News · 5/24 Update: COVID-19 Impact on Tallmadge Athletics & Facilities

Good morning,

The Governor announced this past Thursday that all sports can resume training on May 26th. The Governor also amended the school facilities closure and put the onus on local school districts to determine when their facilities can be used and what facilities can be used. The administration of Tallmadge City Schools is currently working to review the Responsible Restart Ohio, OHSAA, CDC, and Summit County Department of Health recommendations to determine the best practices and protocols to put in place in order keep all of our athletes, coaches, parents, support personnel, and community safe.

As a result, Tallmadge athletics and its facilities are not ready to restart/reopen on May 26th. While a restart/reopen plan is being formulated, we will continue to operate under our current protocol of no in-person contact between coaches and athletes as well as coaches being prohibited from encouraging, directing, or supervising athletes working out together in any location. Use of social media and other digital platforms by our coaches to connect with our athletes IS permitted and highly encouraged to communicate individual workouts and team building/check-ins.

More information will be communicated in the coming days regarding the restart/reopening of Tallmadge athletics and its facilities via the Tallmadge Athletic web site.

Please contact the Tallmadge Athletic Office at (330) 633-6956 with any questions. Go Blue Devils!

Sincerely,

Tim Mosher

Tallmadge Athletic Director
